The LOCVIN Beiji Xing elastic acrylic roll is a factory-finished, 7-layer composite court surface supplied in rolls that are cut to the dimensions of your court. Unlike painted acrylic court coating systems that are applied in liquid form on site, the roll arrives with all performance layers already built in — UV-resistant top coat, quartz-sand speed layer, elastic PVC base, and fiberglass anti-deformation reinforcement.
This prefabricated approach offers two key benefits: faster on-site installation time (typically 1-2 days for a single court) and consistent, factory-controlled surface quality. It is the preferred choice for indoor venues, mall pop-ups, and any application where a temporary or relocatable court surface is needed.

Step-by-Step Installation Process
Substrate Inspection and Preparation
Before unrolling anything, inspect the substrate thoroughly. The elastic acrylic roll is only as good as the surface beneath it.
- Check flatness: lay a 2 m straightedge in multiple directions — maximum acceptable deviation is 3 mm
- Check moisture: use a calcium chloride or RH probe test if substrate is concrete — moisture content must be within acceptable limits before bonded installation
- Repair cracks wider than 1 mm with appropriate crack filler; allow full cure before proceeding
- Clean surface thoroughly — vacuum, damp-wipe, allow to dry completely
- If flatness is out of tolerance, apply self-leveling compound and allow full cure (typically 24-48 hours depending on thickness)
Layout Planning and Roll Positioning
Before applying any adhesive, dry-lay the rolls to confirm positioning and seam placement.
- Mark the court centre line and edges on the substrate using chalk lines
- Position rolls with seams falling outside the main playing area where possible (i.e., in the buffer zone, not within the court lines)
- Allow rolls to acclimatise to room temperature for at least 2 hours if arriving from a cold environment — this prevents dimensional stress during installation
- Trim roll ends square with a straight edge and sharp utility knife
Adhesive Application (Bonded Installation Only)
For a permanent, bonded installation, follow these steps. Skip this step for loose-lay/portable configurations.
- Use LOCVIN-recommended contact adhesive — apply to both the substrate and the back of the roll using a notched trowel
- Apply adhesive in sections: work one roll width at a time, folding half the roll back, applying adhesive to exposed substrate, then carefully rolling down the roll into position
- Use a 50 kg roller (or hand-roller for tight areas) to press the roll firmly into the adhesive — roll from centre toward edges to eliminate air pockets
- Do not walk on newly bonded sections for at least 30 minutes; do not move heavy equipment over bonded sections for 4 hours
Seam Welding
Adjacent rolls must be heat-welded at the seam to create a flush, gap-free surface. This is the most technical step and should be performed by a trained operator.
- Trim seam edges with a straight edge and sharp knife to create clean, flush abutting edges
- Use a hot-air welder set to the appropriate temperature for the roll material (consult LOCVIN technical data sheet — typically 350-400°C nozzle temperature)
- Insert welding rod (matching material provided by LOCVIN) and run the welder along the seam at consistent speed
- After welding, trim excess weld flush with the surface using a trim knife and roller
- Inspect seam: no gaps, no ridges, no discolouration — re-weld any imperfect sections before proceeding
Edge Finishing
Secure and finish all perimeter edges to prevent lifting and to protect the roll from foot traffic damage.
- For bonded installations: apply edge trim or stainless steel edge bar at all perimeter and doorway transitions
- For loose-lay installations: use double-sided perimeter tape at edges; roll the surface up from the centre toward edges and re-lay if repositioning is needed
- Seal edges with matching colour edge adhesive sealant
Curing and Court Marking
Allow the full surface to cure before applying court marking lines.
- Bonded installations: wait minimum 24 hours, 48 hours recommended before marking
- Loose-lay: surface is ready for marking after 2 hours acclimatisation
- Apply court marking lines using a measuring tape, chalk snap line, and roller-applied court line paint
- Pickleball standard court: 13.4 m × 6.1 m playing area, non-volley zone (NVZ) at 2.13 m from net, lines 2.5 cm (1 inch) wide
- Use masking tape on both edges of lines for clean edges; peel tape while paint is still wet
- Apply 2 coats of line paint; allow first coat to dry completely before applying second coat
Final Inspection and Handover
Before declaring the court ready for play, complete the following checks:
- Flatness re-check: run the 2 m straightedge across the installed surface — no ridge or depression greater than 3 mm should be present
- Seam integrity: visually inspect all seams and edge transitions — no lifting, no visible gaps
- Court line accuracy: measure diagonal dimensions to verify the court is square; check NVZ line distance from net
- Net height: standard pickleball net is 91.4 cm (36 inches) at the sidelines, 86.4 cm (34 inches) at the centre
- Complete handover documentation including product specification sheet, maintenance guide, and warranty certificate
Loose-Lay (Portable) Installation Notes
For temporary or event use, the elastic acrylic roll can be installed in a loose-lay configuration — no adhesive required. This allows the surface to be rolled up after use and stored or transported to another venue.
- Minimum substrate: polished concrete, rubber gym floor, or existing hard court surface
- Maximum seam gap for loose-lay: 0.5 mm — wider gaps require edge tape or should use bonded method
- Do not fold the roll — always store and transport rolled (not folded) to avoid permanent crease marks
- Roll from one end; use two people minimum for rolls wider than 1.5 m
- For multi-day events: re-inspect seam tape each morning before play begins
Routine Maintenance
The elastic acrylic roll surface requires minimal maintenance compared to painted acrylic systems. Key points:
- Daily: Sweep or dry-mop to remove dust and debris. Sand and grit are the primary causes of surface abrasion and premature wear.
- Weekly: Damp-mop with clean water. Do not use solvent-based cleaners or abrasive scrubbers — these will degrade the surface texture and accelerate wear.
- Annually: Inspect seams for any signs of lifting or gap opening. Re-weld or re-tape as needed. Inspect edge trim for loosening.
- Court marking refresh: Typically needed every 2-3 years under regular play conditions. Re-apply the same court line paint used originally.
- Heavy soiling: Use a neutral pH cleaner diluted per manufacturer instructions. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Avoid pressure washing — the high-pressure stream can force water under roll edges.
