Acrylic Roll Flooring Installation Guide

The workflow is based on badminton base-mat installation, but acrylic roll flooring needs four required changes: remove the release liner after bonding, do not use glue, weld seams on both sides, and do not wait for 24-hour acclimation before installation.

Subfloor Clean & Layout
Pre-Lay, Align & Trim
Peel Release Liner Immediately
Double-Sided Seam Welding
Compact, Edge & Inspect

Pre-Installation Check: No 24-Hour Acclimation

1

Subfloor

Flat, dry, clean, and dust-free, with no raised spots, standing water, or debris that affects installation.

2

Site

Avoid moisture, standing water, and open flame. Start pre-laying once site conditions are stable.

3

Material

Check roll direction, color, batch consistency, and edge condition before trimming.

4

Tools

Prepare knives, straightedge, tape measure, rollers, welding tools, welding rod, trimming knife, and cleaning tools.

Do not copy the base-mat rule of 24-hour acclimation before installation. Proceed after inspection.

Keep From the Standard Process

Use a flat, dry, dust-free subfloor; pre-lay and align before installation; keep seams straight and edges aligned; compact and inspect after completion.

Mandatory Changes

Peel the release liner after bonding; do not use glue; weld seams on both sides; do not wait for 24-hour acclimation before installation.

Installation Steps

  1. Unroll Naturally

Lay the roll flat. Avoid reverse rolling, twisting, or forced pulling. Do not stretch while fixing.

  2. Align Baselines

Adjust along the center line or edge line. Confirm direction, straightness, and edge quality.

  3. Confirm Seams

Reserve welding space. Clean and compact the seam area before welding.

  4. Peel Release Liner

Remove the release liner promptly after bonding. Peel steadily and evenly.

  5. Weld Both Sides

Weld continuously along the front seam, check the back side, then complete the back weld.

  6. Compact and Edge

Compact from the center outward, repeat at seams and corners, and trim vertically along the edge line.

Final Inspection Checklist

  • Liner

Release liner removed; no liner remains under the roll.

  • Glue

No glue used, including full-spread, touch-up, or spot gluing.

  • Welding

Seams welded on both sides; welds are continuous, full, and not missed.

  • Acclimation

No unnecessary 24-hour acclimation wait before installation.

  • Appearance

Flat surface with no arching, curling, contamination, or obvious knife marks.

Compaction is not a glue remedy. Rework if hollow areas or seam problems are found.
